“The Dream of the Curio Door” By Steve Marcell Johnson It all began with a dream. In the beginning, it was abstract—unclear, shifting like mist in the early morning. Around 2010 or 2011, the dream came to me without warning, leaving only a faint impression on my spirit. I didn’t try to make sense of it at first. But as time went on, the dream began to return—again and again—until it was no longer just a dream, but a vision etched into my consciousness. At one point, it consumed my thoughts. Every moment, awake or asleep, seemed to circle back to that same mysterious image. And then, as suddenly as it had started, the dreams stopped. I tried to move on, to dismiss it as nothing more than imagination—but the vision only grew clearer. The thought process became more definitive, and deep within, I began to understand: The Most High had shown me a path. He had revealed an idea, a destiny even—and left the decision in my hands. I could choose to have faith in what He had in store, or ignore the calling. He had already given me the key. Despite the naysayers, despite the obstacles and doubts, I began to apply everything I had—my dreams, my visions, my thoughts, my faith. For months, I worked to bring clarity to the vision until one day, courage finally overtook hesitation. I sat down and drafted my idea on paper—the first sketch of what I saw in my dreams. That sketch became the foundation. In 2013, after much prayer and deliberation, I contacted a patent company and began the long process of turning that dream into a reality. It wasn’t easy. The cost was high—not only financially, but emotionally and spiritually. But through it all, I remembered that this was never about fear—it was about faith. And after years of effort—unrelenting, unwavering, and fueled by belief—in June of 2017, I was awarded the utility patent for the Curio Door. What began as an unclear dream had become a divine reality. The Curio Door wasn’t just an invention—it was a manifestation of faith, vision, and perseverance.
